The Cardinals put a flag in the ground for Shawn Murphy, 385 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
If Armand Membou and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jalen Milroe in pick 53 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value said wait; Daylen Everette in slot 84 says they were not listening. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They reached a country mile for Emery Jones Jr. at the 123rd pick, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Shawn Murphy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
