Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Commanders came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.
Klare falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Reaching for Barton left real value on the table behind him.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Sonny Styles and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at fair value. More want than need.
A.J. Haulcy at slot 55 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Germie Bernard at pick No. 71 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 31, where Max Klare graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Parker Brailsford at pick 126 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A tidy little value on Will Lee III in No. 131, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They did well to land Dametrious Crownover in the Round 5 slot, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A clean, defensible pick in the 187th overall pick with a little surplus value in Seth McGowan. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid a round early for Lander Barton in pick No. 209, more than the board wanted. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Thaddeus Dixon at the Round 7 slot is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
