Whoever sat across the table from the Patriots should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.
Riley has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Henderson steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
Tre Harris slid further than he should have, and pick No. 69 is lovely value for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at the Round 3 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ozzy Trapilo in pick 77 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Jared Wilson at Round 4, Pick 4 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jonas Sanker at the 144th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A real head-scratcher, Quincy Riley in No. 149 is miles ahead of his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Luke Lachey at the 217th pick is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in slot 220: Caleb Ransaw for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay Howard Cross III at Round 7, Pick 22 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
