The Patriots clearly saw something nobody else did in Nick Nash, taking him 109 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Put together, it is a D+.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Neal value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Aireontae Ersery well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steal is underselling it; Jihaad Campbell at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
No edge and no loss on Maxwell Hairston in pick No. 94; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A reach for Tez Johnson in slot 106; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
