The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Ben Bywater, taking him 161 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Sanders pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
So much rides on Benjamin Morrison that the real verdict is a season or two away.

A premium they did not need to pay, Benjamin Morrison a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They reached a country mile for Donovan Jackson at No. 58, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Darien Porter. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reach on Smael Mondon Jr. in the 91st pick; the board had better options right there. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The board had Raheim Sanders higher than pick No. 162, and the running back fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Ben Bywater at slot 202 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Mitchell Evans well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
