If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Chargers, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Thieneman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
Dillon Thieneman at pick 55 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jacob Rodriguez at the 86th pick is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Daylen Everette at Round 3, Pick 27. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Oscar Delp at par in No. 123, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Zane Durant at pick No. 168 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Eric McAlister slid further than he should have, and the 204th overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They liked Jaydn Ott enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 7, Pick 4. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
