Los Angeles Rams

A masterclass at the trade table lands the Rams a C+.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Rams spent pick No. 93 on Drew Allar, a name most had 65 spots down the list. It nets out a thoroughly average C+.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · Sonny Styles · LB · rank 11
In No. 13 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece. Need was not the driver here.
R1.16 · Pick 16 · Jermod McCoy · CB · rank 16
In the Round 1 slot they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. More want than need.
R1.24 · Pick 24 · Jordyn Tyson · WR · rank 21
In pick No. 24 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.29 · Pick 61 · Christen Miller · DL · rank 59
By-the-book stuff, Christen Miller at slot 61 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.29 · Pick 93 · Drew Allar · QB · rank 158
They left a pile of value on the table to take Drew Allar this early at Round 3, Pick 29. It fills a real need, too.
