There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Browns never got to the one that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
That Cuevas pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Hunter has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid up for Lee Hunter at the 39th pick when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
Michael Taaffe in Round 3, Pick 6 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No drama and no debate, Nicholas Singleton went about where he belonged in the 107th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
CJ Daniels in pick No. 146 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nothing to complain about; Isaiah World went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Keyshaun Elliott at par in No. 206, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Josh Cuevas at Round 7, Pick 32. A need, and now a little less of one.
