Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Jets came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Rodriguez reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Lew steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get a double-digit-sack hope. The biggest hole, addressed.
In slot 16 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
A premium they did not need to pay, Gennings Dunker a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jacob Rodriguez at Round 2, Pick 12 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Taking Connor Lew in the 103rd overall pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on CJ Daniels. The roster fit checks out.
Kaleb Elarms-Orr at pick No. 179 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Miles Kitselman at No. 228 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Logan Taylor at Round 7, Pick 26 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
