The real work happened on the phones. The Cowboys fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They banked enough surplus on Delp to cover a lot of smaller sins. The Cowboys indulged a want in Ramsey while a need in wide receiver, quarterback and other spots stayed open.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

In Round 1, Pick 12 they get an island corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In pick 31 they get a three-down second-level presence, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in No. 63, with A.J. Haulcy worth more than the price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went safety with Kamari Ramsey while clear needs at wide receiver, quarterback and other spots sat open.
They reached into another round for Domani Jackson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
You do not let a tight end like Oscar Delp reach pick No. 152 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good price on Bryce Boettcher in the 177th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ar'maj Reed-Adams in the Round 5 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Thaddeus Dixon in the 218th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
