The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Dominic Zvada at No. 201 regardless, 100 picks early. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Lee Hunter went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Daylen Everette at No. 84 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jeff Caldwell. The roster fit checks out.
Beau Stephens in the 160th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Dominic Zvada in slot 201, miles early. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
They reached a country mile for Adam Randall at pick 236, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Joey Aguilar in the Round 7 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
