The Packers spent real capital to be 66 picks early on Cameron Ball, and the board is going to hold them to it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Stukes pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They read the board right and Anthony Hill Jr. was the payoff at the 52nd pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Caden Curry this early at Round 3, Pick 20. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Treydan Stukes in No. 120 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Beau Stephens in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy bit of business in pick 201, where Jeff Caldwell graded well above the range. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Isaiah Jatta in pick No. 236 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Cameron Ball at Round 7, Pick 39 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It fills a real need, too.
