The Packers torched the value chart for Kaleb Proctor, taking him 44 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
The Roush pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Lee Hunter went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Daylen Everette at Round 3, Pick 23 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Kaleb Proctor at the Round 3 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
Sam Roush in pick No. 120 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Seth McGowan in slot 160 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Isaiah Jatta in the 201st overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Vinny Anthony II in pick 255. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
