You could see the war room lean forward. Christen Miller at pick 84 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Rucci reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A reach on Romello Height in slot 52; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Mike Washington Jr. at the 79th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Christen Miller in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Treydan Stukes at Round 4, Pick 20 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Charles Demmings at pick 160. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They robbed the room for Matt Gulbin here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nolan Rucci at No. 236 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Vinny Anthony II in pick No. 255. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
