You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Chargers did exactly that with Samson Okunlola in the 22nd overall pick.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On value alone, Farmer makes the weekend a net positive.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get an anchor for the offensive line, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
They reached into another round for Isaiah Nwokobia, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Bryce Boettcher at No. 86 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jalen Farmer at the Round 4 slot is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Dae'Quan Wright in the 203rd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Toriano Pride Jr. in Round 6, Pick 23 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
