Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Colts spent the 249th overall pick on Khordae Sydnor, a name the board had a full 201 spots lower.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Masses pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.
Pick-by-Pick
A wild overpay on Julian Neal in the 78th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jakobe Thomas well ahead of where he belonged. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Hezekiah Masses at the 156th overall pick. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Khordae Sydnor at Round 7, Pick 33 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Korey Foreman at the Round 7 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
