You can hear the double-takes from here. The Buccaneers took Max Klare at No. 46, roughly 19 spots before his name belonged.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. On value alone, Robinson makes the weekend a net positive.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a green-dot type in the middle. Need was not the driver here.
Max Klare at Round 2, Pick 14 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They liked Emmett Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 77th pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
C.J. Fite slipping to pick No. 116 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A conviction pick on Iapani Laloulu at slot 153 that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A quiet steal in pick 195: Duce Robinson for less than the market said. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Drayk Bowen. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
