Denver Broncos

The Broncos cashed the board's mistake on Fa'amoe: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Broncos watched Fa'alili Fa'amoe slide 19 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. If Hobbs pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.30 · Pick 62 · Antonio Williams · WR · rank 66
No edge and no loss on Antonio Williams in pick No. 62; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.8 · Pick 108 · Darrell Jackson Jr. · DT · rank 96
A slide stopped in No. 108, with Darrell Jackson Jr. worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Justin Joly · TE · rank 115
Justin Joly in the 111th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.30 · Pick 170 · Kaleb Elarms-Orr · LB · rank 175
Kaleb Elarms-Orr at Round 5, Pick 30 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.30 · Pick 246 · Daevin Hobbs · DL · rank 265
They reached into another round for Daevin Hobbs, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.40 · Pick 256 · Vinny Anthony II · WR · rank 245
Vinny Anthony II at pick 256 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.41 · Pick 257 · Fa'alili Fa'amoe · OT · rank 238
The board fumbled Fa'alili Fa'amoe all the way to the 257th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
