The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Kaden Wetjen, the No. 216 name on the board, sitting there at the 236th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The World reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Caleb Banks at pick No. 52. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 3, Pick 20 with a little surplus value in Daylen Everette. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Isaiah World at pick No. 120 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Zxavian Harris at the 160th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
No drama and no debate, Le'Veon Moss went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kaden Wetjen in pick 236 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
They read the board right and John Michael Gyllenborg was the payoff at slot 255. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
