If one pick saves this weekend, it is Trotter. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 19th overall pick they get a true top target, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Gabe Jacas at slot 51 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Josiah Trotter in Round 3, Pick 19 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They barely believed it either: Malik Muhammad still on the board at the 119th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They did well to land Kage Casey in the Round 5 slot, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, Albert Regis at pick 159 squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They reached into another round for George Gumbs Jr., and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
