Call it larceny. Michael Taaffe sat on the board until No. 101, and the Titans did not need to be asked twice. The bottom line is a respectable B.
For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Jefferson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 4 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nothing to complain about; Chris Johnson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They did well to land Germie Bernard in No. 66, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Somehow Michael Taaffe was still sitting there in the 101st overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor itch, scratched.
They let Eli Raridon come to them and pounced at pick No. 142. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
By-the-book stuff, Gracen Halton at Round 5, Pick 4 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Justin Jefferson at the 184th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No edge and no loss on David Gusta in slot 194; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Noah Whittington in the 225th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
