You can draft well and still miss the point. The 49ers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most.
Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Monroe Freeling at slot 27 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jake Golday. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
