They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Trey Moore, 44 picks early at the 136th pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Allar value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 8 they get a true top target at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Anthony Hill Jr. in Round 2, Pick 10 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value said wait; Treydan Stukes in the 73rd overall pick says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A slide stopped in the 132nd pick, with Jack Endries worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They talked themselves into Trey Moore at the Round 4 slot, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A big swing on Matt Gulbin at pick No. 150, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Drew Allar slid further than he should have, and the 172nd overall pick is lovely value for the quarterback. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wild overpay on Zavion Thomas in pick No. 190, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
