There is conviction, and then there is this. The Titans took Trey Moore a full 36 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
They banked enough surplus on Brailsford to cover a lot of smaller sins. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a workhorse for the backfield, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Joshua Josephs at pick No. 35 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Eli Stowers at slot 66 is the proof. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 101 with a little surplus value in Bryce Lance. The roster fit checks out.
Nice patience on Parker Brailsford, who had no business lasting to the 142nd overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Charles Demmings in Round 5, Pick 4 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A real head-scratcher, Trey Moore in Round 5, Pick 11 is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on DJ Campbell in the 184th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
VJ Payne in the 194th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A tidy little value on Landon Robinson in pick 225, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
