The Browns spent real capital to be 37 picks early on Taylen Green, and the board is going to hold them to it.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Sarratt. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.
On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with quarterback the one that mattered most.
So much rides on Monroe Freeling that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 12 they get a cornerstone up front, reach and all. A real need, handled.
In the 15th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Anthony Hill Jr. at Round 2, Pick 7 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Elijah Sarratt in pick No. 107 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A big swing on Louis Moore at pick 146, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Taylen Green at the Round 5 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board had cheaper options than TJ Hall at pick No. 206, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Trey Zuhn III at Round 7, Pick 32 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
