They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Isaiah Jatta, 43 picks early at No. 201. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Lance steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
The trade work was a quiet net positive.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Connor Lew in No. 84 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Ted Hurst in the 120th overall pick, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
You do not let a wide receiver like Bryce Lance reach pick 123 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No drama and no debate, Demond Claiborne went about where he belonged in pick No. 160. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Isaiah Jatta at the 201st pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing TJ Hall in the Round 7 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Deven Eastern in No. 255, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Josh Cuevas at slot 256 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jack Kelly in pick 257 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
