Boards are made to be trusted, and the Browns shredded theirs for Will Kacmarek. He came off 65 spots early, and the room will hear about it. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Delp pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 18th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In slot 20 they get a building block for the line, even if it was a touch early.
They did well to land Omar Cooper Jr. in the 39th pick, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No drama and no debate, Gennings Dunker went about where he belonged in No. 49. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kyle Louis is a better player than pick No. 92 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jalon Kilgore at pick 107 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A straight-up fair deal on Davison Igbinosun at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Oscar Delp in No. 149 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reach on Jeremiah Wright in pick No. 206; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Will Kacmarek this early at the 248th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
