The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 120 spots for Zen Michalski, and value like that does not grow back.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. The Price value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid a round early for Derrick Moore in pick 52, more than the board wanted. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They read the board right and Jadarian Price was the payoff at slot 84. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No drama and no debate, Julian Neal went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reach on Albert Regis in the 160th overall pick; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Dallen Bentley in pick No. 201 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
No edge and no loss on Diego Pavia in No. 236; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A big swing on Zen Michalski at the Round 7 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
