Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Dametrious Crownover at the Round 4 slot is 37 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Landing Hall that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick No. 24 they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Omar Cooper Jr. in slot 39 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Circle this one: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 70th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dametrious Crownover this early at No. 107. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Isaiah World in pick 146 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Good price on CJ Daniels in the 149th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Sawyer Robertson at slot 206 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
TJ Hall at pick 248 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
