The Aidan Hubbard pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 109 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
On value alone, Fields makes the weekend a net positive. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Gennings Dunker at pick 52 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Somehow Lee Hunter was still sitting there in the Round 3 slot, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for Malachi Fields here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Hezekiah Masses is a better player than pick No. 153 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They paid a round early for Albert Regis in the 160th pick, more than the board wanted. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ephesians Prysock at No. 201 is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Robert Henry Jr. this early at the 236th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A wild overpay on Aidan Hubbard in pick No. 255, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
