Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Packers spent No. 255 on Riley Mahlman, a name most had 38 spots down the list.

Golday at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

So much rides on Blake Miller that the real verdict is a season or two away.
