Nobody had Bryce Foster this high, and it is not close. The Packers reached 59 spots to get him at slot 201.
Landing Igbinosun that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
So much rides on Caleb Tiernan that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Caleb Tiernan in the 52nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Davison Igbinosun in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Brian Parker II at pick No. 111 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They let Tacario Davis come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 20. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reach on Demond Claiborne in the 153rd pick; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nate Boerkircher in pick 160 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
VJ Payne at No. 168 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They talked themselves into Bryce Foster at the 201st overall pick, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Robert Spears-Jennings. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
A wild overpay on Riley Mahlman in Round 7, Pick 39, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It fills a real need, too.
This one needs a full-page explanation: J. Michael Sturdivant in pick No. 257, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
