It is the swing that defines the weekend: Eric Gentry in the 214th overall pick, a good 138 spots before the room expected him. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They banked enough surplus on Rodriguez to cover a lot of smaller sins. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th pick they get a lead back with juice, outstanding value to boot.
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a blindside protector, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
The board had Anthony Hill Jr. higher than No. 47, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Keionte Scott in the Round 3 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jacob Rodriguez in pick 90 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Michael Trigg in the 94th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Circle this one: Ja'Kobi Lane at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reach on Dametrious Crownover in slot 130; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Isaiah World at No. 151 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
