When a board-topper like Chop Robinson slides to the 41st pick, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Reaching for Bortolini left real value on the table behind him.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Chop Robinson in pick 41, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Roman Wilson slipping to pick No. 58 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They took Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A straight-up fair deal on Christian Mahogany at Round 3, Pick 28, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cedric Gray at the 126th overall pick is the proof. A minor need, but a need all the same.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tanor Bortolini in slot 169, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A reach on Caedan Wallace in No. 202; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid up for Edefuan Ulofoshio at No. 219 when waiting would have done the job. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
By-the-book stuff, Josh Proctor at pick 245 squarely in line with his ranking. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Jalen Sundell at the 255th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
