Dallas Cowboys

Good, not great, for the Cowboys: B-.

For all the boxes ticked, the Cowboys skipped the loudest one: offensive lineman is exactly as bare as it was.

The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 24
In No. 24 they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.24 · Pick 56 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 70
They paid up for Trey Benson at slot 56 when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 105
A wild overpay on Khyree Jackson in the Round 3 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Tommy Eichenberg · LB · rank 127
A straight-up fair deal on Tommy Eichenberg at Round 4, Pick 25, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R5.37 · Pick 173 · Zion Tupuola-Fetui · DE-EDGE · rank 169
Good price on Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the 173rd overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R6.38 · Pick 213 · Sam Hartman · QB · rank 211
No drama and no debate, Sam Hartman went about where he belonged in pick 213. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
