Nobody had Zion Logue this high, and it is not close. The Cowboys reached 48 spots to get him at the 213th pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. However the rest shakes out, Guyton at that price is a win they earned.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a go-to option on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Tyler Guyton slipping to pick 56 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Gabriel Murphy at Round 3, Pick 24 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. A minor itch, scratched.
They talked themselves into Braelon Allen at the 125th pick, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jaylan Ford in the Round 5 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Zion Logue in No. 213 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Joshua Cephus. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
