When the story of this class is written, it opens with Zion Logue at No. 212, a reach of 38 spots that the board flatly disagrees with.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Allen steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, T.J. Tampa at pick No. 34 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A tidy little value on Kingsley Suamataia in Round 2, Pick 24, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Brenden Rice in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ray Davis. It fills a real need, too.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tommy Eichenberg. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They robbed the room for Braelon Allen here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
