The Cowboys did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Dallas Turner fell into the Round 3 slot.
If Clark pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 29 they get a cornerstone up front, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board had cheaper options than Junior Colson at pick No. 58, and it noticed. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They robbed the room for Dallas Turner here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Khyree Jackson well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They barely believed it either: Matt Goncalves still on the board at the 125th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They reached into another round for Braelon Allen, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
De'Corian Clark in the 173rd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A real head-scratcher, Taulia Tagovailoa in pick 213 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reach for Joshua Cephus in pick No. 242; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
