The Cowboys treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 7, Pick 22 on Jermayne Lole a full 77 spots early. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Jackson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Rome Odunze at the Round 1 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nice patience on Patrick Paul, who had no business lasting to the 59th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Trey Benson at slot 87 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Khyree Jackson in Round 4, Pick 25 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaylan Ford well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A slide stopped in No. 173, with Braelon Allen worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
