You build a draft on nights like this. Jarrian Jones had no business being available in the Round 6 slot, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 21 they get a home-run threat at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
They will replay JC Latham at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
A quiet steal in the 58th pick: T.J. Tampa for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Mike Sainristil at the 88th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Dominick Puni in Round 3, Pick 28 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
No drama and no debate, Dadrion Taylor-Demerson went about where he belonged in pick No. 127. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Jarrian Jones at slot 204 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Isaac Guerendo at No. 216 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
KT Leveston at pick 243 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Taking Frank Gore Jr. in the Round 7 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
