Somebody in Round 5, Pick 36 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Isaiah Adams, the No. 126 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
JC Latham slipping to pick No. 33 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It fills a real need, too.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kalen King in the 53rd pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Patrick Paul in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board fumbled Payton Wilson all the way to slot 97, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
You do not let a cornerback like Max Melton reach Round 5, Pick 1 and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A tidy bit of business in No. 141, where Cole Bishop graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Steal is underselling it; James Williams at pick 158 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They read the board right and Braelon Allen was the payoff at the 163rd overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They barely believed it either: Isaiah Adams still on the board at pick No. 172. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jaylen Wright in No. 178 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Isaiah Neyor in the 243rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
