When a board-topper like Daylen Everette slides to the 113th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Ravens did not. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Bottom line, with Olaivavega Ioane leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 23 they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Joshua Josephs at the 39th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Max Iheanachor at Round 2, Pick 16 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 79th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Skyler Bell went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Bryce Lance is a better player than slot 107 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Taking Daylen Everette in No. 113 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 130 with a little surplus value in Jack Endries. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They did well to land Charles Demmings in No. 154, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Rayshaun Benny in slot 162 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jeff Caldwell in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Landon Robinson at par in Round 6, Pick 34, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They robbed the room for Thaddeus Dixon here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
