The Dolphins did not so much draft Tanor Bortolini as overpay for him, 27 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Worthy pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 21 they get a premier pass rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board had Xavier Worthy higher than the 53rd pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They let Beaux Limmer come to them and pounced at the 155th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
They reached a country mile for Christian Jones at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Tanor Bortolini this early at No. 199. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They talked themselves into Matthew Jones at Round 7, Pick 19, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
