This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jarrian Jones, the No. 136 name on the board, stolen at the 180th pick. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Solomon pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Marvin Harrison Jr. at par in slot 3, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They did well to land Bo Nix in the 34th pick, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
By-the-book stuff, Kiran Amegadjie at the 68th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
A want over a need in pick No. 103: Javon Solomon adds an OLB-EDGE while edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots keeps waiting.
Roger Rosengarten in No. 137 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Jarrian Jones still on the board at the Round 6 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jha'Quan Jackson at pick 193. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Trey Knox slipping to Round 7, Pick 11 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
