Everything else got attention, and interior defensive lineman got none. That is a strange way for the Eagles to leave a draft.
Every board in the league had Rosengarten lower, and that gap is the story. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on T.J. Tampa. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good price on Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
They jumped the gun on Roger Rosengarten, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No drama and no debate, Tykee Smith went about where he belonged in pick 161. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Grayson Murphy at No. 171 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
