They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Dani Dennis-Sutton, 78 picks early at slot 62. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
That Kiser pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Mekhi Becton pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Dani Dennis-Sutton in slot 62 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Dylan Fairchild slipping to No. 69 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Somehow Jihaad Campbell was still sitting there in the 77th pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Kevin Winston Jr. at pick No. 105 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A running back of that caliber at pick 143 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A big swing on Nick Nash at slot 217, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A real head-scratcher, Shilo Sanders in the 220th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jack Kiser at the 241st overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
