You could see the war room lean forward. Isaiah World at No. 191 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
Reaching for Llewellyn left real value on the table behind him. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
They robbed the room for Olaivavega Ioane here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Max Iheanachor at Round 2, Pick 31. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Chris Johnson in pick 78, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Steal is underselling it; Eli Stowers at slot 95 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They will replay Elijah Sarratt at the 113th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Max Llewellyn. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for DeMonte Capehart in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 171st pick is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Taking Isaiah World in pick 191 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Zane Durant in Round 6, Pick 17 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They barely believed it either: Taylen Green still on the board at the 202nd pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Seth McGowan was still sitting there in the 212th overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Zavion Thomas at slot 247 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
