The George Gumbs Jr. pick is the one that will follow the Patriots into the fall. They took him 66 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

Landing Reese that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
