The Patriots torched the value chart for Logan Fano, taking him 57 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Burks. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.31 · Pick 31 · KC Concepcion · WR · rank 27
In pick 31 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.31 · Pick 63 · CJ Allen · LB · rank 31
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, CJ Allen in the 63rd pick, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R3.31 · Pick 95 · Dontay Corleone · DT · rank 67
Dontay Corleone at Round 3, Pick 31 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Deion Burks · WR · rank 87
Circle this one: Deion Burks at slot 125 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.31 · Pick 131 · Davison Igbinosun · CB · rank 113
Davison Igbinosun at pick No. 131 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R5.31 · Pick 171 · Tanner Koziol · TE · rank 163
A quiet steal in No. 171: Tanner Koziol for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R6.10 · Pick 191 · Taylen Green · QB · rank 185
Nothing to complain about; Taylen Green went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.17 · Pick 198 · Logan Fano · DE-EDGE · rank 255
Logan Fano in Round 6, Pick 17 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.21 · Pick 202 · Cole Payton · QB · rank 193
A tidy bit of business in slot 202, where Cole Payton graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R6.31 · Pick 212 · Jeremiah Wright · OG · rank 212
Jeremiah Wright at the 212th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.31 · Pick 247 · Eli Heidenreich · WR · rank 233
Nice patience on Eli Heidenreich, who had no business lasting to the Round 7 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
