You could see the war room lean forward. Arvell Reese at pick No. 26 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Arvell Reese in pick 26 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Elijah Sarratt is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Gracen Halton. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Louis Moore in slot 165 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nice patience on Beau Stephens, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 28. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid sticker price for Keagen Trost in No. 182, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Chase Roberts in the 220th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
